ASAMALA Foundation is a Christian charity organization whose objective is to address the challenges that under privileged people face in the community. ASAMALA is from the chichewa language and it means He Cares; coming from the book of 1 Peter 5:7. ASAMALA is based in Llilongwe the capital city of malawi, Africa.

ASAMALA Foundation started one day when a pastor was a traveling to a village for a church service and he noticed some young boys in a corn field hunting mice. He knew they should be in school, so he asked why they weren’t. They responded that they do not go to school and that they were chasing mice to catch them for food because they were hungry. This saddened the pastor, and he brought his concern to God. From there he took food from his house and began to feed the Orphans from the little food that he had.

A church in the US heard of this story and decided to join in where God was moving by raising funds to feed the orphans and also some widows in the village. Very quickly more orphans and widows came to the feedings and now hundreds of people are regularly being fed through the ASAMALA Foundation. In addition to feeding the orphans and the widows the ASAMALA Foundation also helps children attend school, supplies clean water to the community, does other projects to help the community and brings people the word of God. People’s lives have been changed and transformed to the glory of God!

Through the goodness of God, the ASAMALA Foundation has been able to feed hundreds of children and widows for years and ignite hope to the hopeless through the sharing of the word of God.

James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” This is the calling that was placed on the hearts of the people of the ASAMALA Foundation.

We believe in as much money as possible going to God’s kingdom. There are NO paid staff members in the US and all donations are used for those in need with the exception of minimal fees needed for the non-profit to operate.
